Food in Oaxaca

The main highlights of Oaxaca are good food, art and unique culture. Let’s start with food.

Here is Tlayuda con quesillo y tasajo, which is a big corn tortilla with cheese, beef and bean sauce.

Sweet grapefruit with chilli spice can be bought on the street.

Enchiladas de coloradito, which are fried tortillas with red sauce, cheese, onions and meat on the side.

Hot corn dipped in mayonnaise, cheese and chilli is another street food. Really good and seems that can be easily prepared at home.

Mole con Pollo, chicken dipped with different kind of sauce, liquid chocolate is my favourite.

Chocolate, comes in different flavours and forms. Could be melted in hot water or eaten „raw”.

And here is the last one. It’s not Asia and those are Chapulines, roasted grashoppers. People say they are good but I wasn’t in a mood to try them.
