I am in Yosemite Valley, world class climbing destination. I had this thing on my mind for a long time so I brought some essential climbing gear and I am basically ready to call it home for the next couple of weeks.
On Monday I moved into Camp 4, which is famous campsite inhabited mostly by climbers. I thought I was going to have some slow and relaxed time here, but actually I am busy doing climbing related stuff most of my days.
Right now the main thing happening in the valley is Facelift, annual volunteer based garbage cleaning. It’s accompanied by various events and talks given by talented and famous climbers. The whole thing helps me to understand Yosemite climbing community, as well as its history. And with some practice, which is climbing itself, I can experience how amazing it is to be a part of it.
